GREATER NOIDA: Two sisters, both in their twenties and married in the same family in Surajpur, were arrested for allegedly killing the three-year-old son of their sister-in-law over prolonged enmity and jealousy, police said.
The incident came to light on September 29 when the body of the child, Bhavyansh, was found wrapped with a blanked in a wooden trunk inside the room of one of the accused after being missing for over six hours.

His mother had alleged that he was last seen with one of the two accused. Later, an autopsy revealed that he died due to suffocation which prompted police to launch a murder investigation.
According to the police, the two women confessed of suffocating the child with a pillow. “The women said that the mother of the deceased, Sapna, used to intrude in their marital affairs and insult them for not giving enough dowry,” said Harish Chandar, DCP (Central Noida), adding that the two women hatched the plan to murder Bhavyansh and blame someone else for the crime.
Sapna had come a few weeks ago to her parents’ house with her three-year-old from Sirsa where she lives since marriage. “As we got the information about the missing boy, we started looking for him and when he was nowhere to be found, we lodged an FIR under Section 363 (abduction) against unknown persons,” he said.
“One of his uncles, Lalit, found the body in the room of his brother, Sumit, which made both of them and their wives prime suspects in the case,” said Chandar.
Police booked the two sisters under sections 302 (murder) and 201 (criminal conspiracy) of the IPC. They were sent to jail after being produced before court on Monday.
